Israel’s President Rivlin condemns arson attack in Aqraba

Israeli President Reuven Rivlin has strongly condemned an arson attack on a mosque in the Palestinian town of Aqraba.

He ordered an urgent investigation into the incident, where a firebomb was thrown through a window of the mosque.

The President stated that “burning holy places is terrorism, and should be treated as terrorism”.

Calling for a pro-active response to future violence, he added “if we do not act decisively, we will all pay the ‘price tag’, referring to graffiti left on the mosque.

‘Price tag’, an Israeli vigilante group, has carried out numerous attacks in the West Bank and inside Israel against opponents of settlement-building.
