Rosh Pinah make a big splash at school swimming gala

Rosh Pinah’s all-conquering squad

Rosh Pinah came away with a clean sweep of trophies at this year’s Maccabi Swimming Gala at Barnet Copthall Swimming Pool.

Eight primary schools from across the community – including Sinai, MMK, Kerem, Independent, Wolfson Hillel, HJPS and North West – took part in the event, with each school bringing a squad consisting of both boys and girls, aged between 8-11 years-old, totalling 150 participants who were supported by more than 150 parents.

Rosh Pinah had 19 pupils competing in the event, and for the first time in three years, won every trophy available on the day – the winning girl’s team, boy’s team and overall winning school title.

PE Co-Ordinators Mr Munro & Mr Goldin said: “We’re really proud of the effort and the behaviour of the pupils on the day. Each and every single one of them gave it their best. Some of our swimmers swim at clubs however, a large proportion of the swimmers have been trained through the school.

“To win one trophy would have been an achievement however to win all three was simply incredible and we are so proud of the team. We are so proud of our sport provision at Rosh Pinah after recently being award the Bronze School Games award. We look forward to continued sporting success at our school.”
