A second cohort of the British Jewish community’s most comprehensive leadership development programme kicked off their studies this week.

Learners set off on Sunday on the year-long Dangoor Senior Leadership Programme run by Lead, a division of the Jewish Leadership Council (JLC) and supported by Dangoor Education. Its predecessor course was called ‘Gamechangers.’

Participants, who are already in a position of leadership, are expected to go on to lead the Jewish community in the years ahead, and began by meeting Tamara Finkelstein, Permanent Secretary at the Department for Food and Rural Affairs.

JLC chief executive Simon Johnson said: “Programmes like this are an investment in the future of our community. Supporting and enabling good leadership at every level of our communal organisations is vital.”

Nathan Servi, Head of Education at Maccabi GB and a participant of the programme said “It is a rare opportunity to sit in a room with such high level of experience and intellectual ability. As we begin to grasp the potential for personal and professional development that this group will enable, it is clear from the onset that the DSLP sets out to be an immersive, enlightening experience which will have a transformative impact on our community as a whole”

Judy Silkoff, participant and incoming Director of Operations at the Board of Deputies and co-chair of the AJWO (Alliance of Jewish Women and their Organisations) and the co-chair of her local Nisa-Nashim group, said she was “Really inspired and enthusiastic about the journey ahead. It’s a real privilege to be part of this very exciting programme!”
