Sela crashes out of French Open

Sela’s French Open is over after he suffered a straight set defeat on Wednesday afternoon

Israeli sole singles representative at this year’s French Open crashed out in the second round of the men’s singles competition on Wednesday afternoon.

Up against home favourite, the 14th seed Jo-Wilfried Tsonga, Dudi Sela was comprehensively beaten 6-4, 6-1, 6-1. Sela was Israel’s sole representative at Roland Garros after Amir Weintraub, Julia Glushko and Shahar Peer were all knocked out in the qualifying rounds.

Israeli interest now lies with Shahar Peer, who along with German Annika Beck, are through to the second round of the women’s doubles competition where they face Pole Alicja Rosolska and Candian Gabriela Dabrowski.
