The Spanish and Portuguese Sephardi community has agreed to host a nursery and is moving its headquarters to north London.

A lease agreement has been signed between the S&P’s Lauderdale Road community and a Jewish Independent Day Care Nursery, ‘La Petite Nursery’, who will occupy the movement’s existing office.

The Sephardi movement said the shift will bring in new young families to the community and to its campus.

The Lauderdale road office will relocating from its site in Ashworth Road, Maida Vale, to north London, with staff expecting to fully move into new premises by early may.

The Ashworth Road site will still host the offices of Senior Rabbi Joseph Dweck and other staff members while the move takes place. Other administrative roles of the existing site, including the Beth Din, will move to the new north London location.

Rabbi Dweck said: “The new nursery will be an invigorating new part of the Lauderdale Road campus which we welcome with open arms.

“The relocation of our administrative offices allows the S&P to work from a modern working space that is fit for purpose which will benefit every aspect of the community”

Sarah Zaoui of La Petit Nursery said: “I am thrilled and excited to offer this unique opportunity to the community: a premium and independent day care Jewish nursery located in the Maida Vale S&P premises. From September onwards, La Petite Nursery will give parents access to a place where their children can safely learn and grow in the utmost respect of Jewish values and traditions.”
