Shoah denier Alison Chabloz jailed for breaching terms of suspended sentence
Far-right activist who wrote song calling Auschwitz a 'theme park' was convicted in June 2018 and has now been put behind bars for breaking her social media ban
Convicted Holocaust denier Alison Chabloz has been jailed for breaching the terms of her suspended sentence.
Chabloz, who posted offensive songs online calling Auschwitz a “theme park”, was found guilty in June 2018 of three counts of sending by a public communications network an offensive, indecent or menacing message or material.
She was sentenced to 20 weeks imprisonment suspended for two years at Westminster Magistrates’ Court, and was banned from posting anything on social media for one year.
In February 2019 a court upheld the conviction against her, with the judge calling her a “Holocaust denier” who is “manifestly antisemitic and utterly obsessed with what she perceives to be the wrongdoing of the Jews and their disproportionate influence in politics, the media and banking in particular.”
This week, the Campaign Against Antisemitism said she has been put behind bars for eight weeks, after being found guilty of breaching the terms of her suspended sentence by posting to her blog. The Mail Online claim she had posted to it ‘at least 50 times’.
Stephen Silverman of Campaign Against Antisemitism said: “We are delighted that justice has taken its proper course. Today’s trial follows contact between Campaign Against Antisemitism’s lawyers and the National Probation Service, and we are grateful for their cooperation. We hope that this sentence will send a message that antisemitism is unacceptable and that the courts will not hesitate to use the powers at their disposal to bring offenders to justice.”
In August, Chabloz was stopped by officers at St Pancras International under schedule 7 of the Terrorism Act 2000, after French authorities reportedly banned her from entering the country, saying she posed a “serious threat”.
