Former Immanuel College pupil staging concert to highlight youth mental health crisis

A former pupil at Immanuel College, has organised a musical theatre concert with top West End stars to “shine a spotlight on the UK’s youth mental health crisis”.
Brady Isaacs Pearce, 22, is producing and starring in the one-night-only performance to raise money for Beyond, a mental health charity founded by mental health campaigner Jonny Benjamin MBE.
She said: “This is my way of giving back to a charity that did so much for me.
“I’ve been in the musical theatre industry since I was 10 years old, and I’ve grown up performing in concerts and it is something that brings me a lot of joy.
“I think it brings other people joy as well.”
Educated at the Bushey independent school and a graduate of the Brit School, Brady will be performing alongside Holby City star Chizzy Akudolu, Tik-Tok sensation and Heathers actress Hannah Lowther, and The Voice contestant Ruth Brown.
The show will also feature live conversations with Beyond Youth Members 24 year-old Antonio and 11 year-old Ava, who will share their experiences and challenges with mental health.
Though Brady hasn’t “performed in front of such a big audience in a while” she is sure “that it will pay off.”
She adds: “Producing a show has definitely had its challenges, but the cast has been amazing and it seems like they are genuinely invested in the cause, which is really important.”
The concert, which has been in the works since November, will take place at The Other Palace on June 20th.
Currently there are over 200 schools on Beyond’s waiting list, desperate for emergency mental health support.
Louisa Rose, CEO of Beyond said: “For somebody to do a fundraising event like this means so much.
“I think that the concert itself is such an important and engaging way to bring people into the mental health conversation.
“This is a really special event. It’s super exciting. But honestly, we’re just so proud of Brady.”
In the UK 200 school children every year die by suicide.
