Stamford Hill leaders shocked by ‘fake news’ anti-vaccination booklet
44 page publication contains claims of people falling ill and even dying as a result of the vaccine and “quotes” rabbis and medical professionals critical of the jab.
A booklet branding the pandemic vaccination scheme “deceitful manipulation” has been widely circulated in Stamford Hill.
The 44 page publication entitled ‘Dear Brothers and Sisters: Wake Up!’ contains claims of people falling ill and even dying as a result of the vaccine and “quotes” rabbis and medical professionals critical of the jab.
The booklet claims: “The vaccine is NOT a vaccine, but a novel genetic therapy being used on humans without having gone through sufficient animal safety trials or long-term human trials.” It also cites a “Harvard study” and suggests “suramin… derived from pine needles” could be a better possible cure.
It also crudely states: “Have people ever been so blind and gullible? Parents, pregnant women, teens and people who have already recovered from coronavirus line up to be shot with complete faith. Have such horrible lies ever been told?”
Stamford Hill community leader Rabbi Herschel Gluck said: “I was very surprised by this leaflet. People have a responsibility, especially when dealing with life and death, not to spread fake news. This undermines the health of members of the community.”
Gluck said notices have been placed in the area’s synagogues to counter the leaflet’s impact and “inform people about the importance of vaccination”.
Levi Schapiro, the head of the Jewish Community Council (JCC) of North London, said: “This may weaken the hard work undertaken by the JCC and others to encourage uptake among the younger population.”
More than 35 million people in the UK have so far received both doses of a vaccine.
