StandWithUs appoints new UK executive director

The pro-Israel educational charity StandWithUs (SWU) has appointed a new UK executive director.

Sara Sherrard, from Mill Hill synagogue, is to take over the reins from Raphael Wein later this month.

“I am thrilled to take on the challenge of leading the SWU dynamic staff to ensure that British Jewry identifies with and be inspired by Israel and that SWU continues forging links with people of all faiths across the UK,” she said.

The appointment comes amid plans to increase SWU’s presence in the UK.

The charity’s associate director Tamir Oren said the charity would “expand” its staff to support for six-formers, university students and others.
