Swastikas on trees in Epping Forest to be removed ‘immediately’
City of London Corporation condemns the offensive symbols daubed this week and says it won't tolerate 'discrimination of any form'
Swastikas daubed on trees in Epping Forest will be removed “immediately” by authorities.
The offensive symbols were reported to The City of London Corporation, which manages the woodland, after being discovered by a Jewish News reader.
In a statement, the Corporation said: “Racist vandalism is completely unacceptable and we will be taking action remove the offensive marks immediately.
“Our values celebrate community and inclusivity and we will not tolerate discrimination of any form.
“We have adopted the International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance definition on Antisemitism to show our commitment to stamping out all forms of hate.
“Epping Forest is enjoyed by millions of visitors each year and our staff work incredibly hard to make sure it is maintained to a high standard.”
