Five runners have raised more than £22,500 for the community’s leading cancer charity.

The team took to the streets on Sunday to raise vital funds for Chai Cancer Care as part of the TCS London Marathon.

Zak Fraser, who has so far raised £10,566, completed the marathon in 4 hours 48 minutes. He said: “My dad sadly passed away from cancer in 2018 after a long and brave battle. Through his diagnosis and treatment, Chai offered an amazing source of support through their reflexology experts. Mum, who sadly passed away suddenly in 2022, also benefitted from Chai’s services throughout these difficult years.”

Emma Levy, who with her husband, Jonny, ran for Chai and Future Dreams, said: “When I set the goal of raising £40,000 for my 40th birthday, there was no question which charities I would fundraise for.  Chai and Future Dreams were the 2 charities who were there for me and my family throughout and beyond my whole breast cancer journey and I’ve been able to witness first hand the unbelievable work that they do.”
