Teens to visit all tube stations in one day for charity, for the second time
Two teenage friends are set to visit all 270 Underground stations in one day to raise money for charity – for the second time.
Daniel Sassoon and Aaron Rudolph, aged 18 and 19 respectively, set themselves the ‘Tube Challenge’ for 9 September after one of Daniel’s friends was diagnosed with cancer. You can donate HERE
But remarkably, this is not their first time, and in 2013 they completed the amazing feat in just over 19 hours, raising money for Magen David Adom.
This time the money will go to Camp Simcha, which aims to improve the quality of life of children suffering from cancer or other life threatening illnesses, and to give carers a bit of a break too, by organising weekend trips away with the kids.
“I was a leader on their summer camp and I got to see how they really go out their way to ensure the children get all they can offer,” said Aaron.
The duo picked the charity after one of Daniel’s friends in Liverpool was diagnosed, with the youngster saying: “I wanted to give Camp Simcha some help.”
But, in opting for all 270 Underground stations again, the pair were picking a favourite pastime too, with Daniel joking that he is “a bit of a transport geek,” adding: “I wanted to do the Tube Challenge when we first met.”
Aaron agreed, saying: “We’ve both always had a quirk for London Underground.”
