New data from American Express Global Business Travel for 2015 shows Israel’s most cosmopolitan city as the eighth most visited foreign destination for British business travellers – the first time Tel Aviv has appeared in the list.

“It perhaps indicates that UK businesses are taking an increased interest in the Tel Aviv’s renowned start-up ecosystem,” said a GBT spokesman.

U.S. cities such as New York, San Francisco, Boston and Chicago still dominate the list, while Asian tech-hubs such as Singapore and Hong Kong appear alongside destinations such as Johannesburg, Dubai and Delhi.

“The data reveal that, whilst the U.S remains one of the most important destinations for UK business travellers, there have been some shifts in travel patterns, at both a European and international level,” said GBT’s Jason Geall.
