Tributes paid to Holocaust survivor Issy Hahn

Tributes have been paid to Holocaust survivor Issy Hahn, who died at his home in Redbridge on Saturday, at the age of 85.

Born in Poland, Issy was sent to Auschwitz with his brother Karol.

Both survived and Issy later told his story in a book called ‘A Life Sentence of Memories,’ before going on to campaign for the horrors of the Holocaust to be remembered.

“He was always trying to educate people irrespective of their race or creed,” said his son David.
