US airman sets himself on fire in front of Israeli Embassy to protest Gaza ‘genocide’
The active-duty member of the air force was quoted as saying that he would 'no longer be complicit in genocide' while live-streaming the incident
A member of the US. airforce set himself on fire in front of the Israeli embassy in Washington, in protest of the war between Israel and Hamas, according to the Associated Press.
The active-duty member of the airforce was quoted as saying that he would “no longer be complicit in genocide,” while live-streaming the protest.
A similar incident took place in December in Atlanta, Georgia, when another person set himself on fire in front of the Israeli consulate. AP reported that a Palestinian flag was found at the scene, and that the incident was considered an “extreme political protest.”
Israel has been accused of committing genocide against Palestinians in Gaza, with South Africa taking Jerusalem to the International Court of Justice.
Israel has vehemently denied the accusation, calling it “blood libel” while accusing South Africa of being the long arm of Hamas.
