The British weather did its best to dampen the opening of the The Dorfman Piazza at JW3 on Monday evening – but as it’s a fully enclosed and heated structure it mattered not – and in fact showed off the space to its best advantage!

More than 300 people gathered to feast on delicious canapes by Jason Millan and listen to Klezmer accordionist Josh Middleton with fellow clarinettist Daniel Gouly. Josh is musical director for JW3’s pantomimes.

This unique new space can be open plan or divided into three sections while the state-of-the-art roof can open partially or fully close in minutes. The sides, too can can be open or closed, there is LED strip lighting on the sides set within the structure and the heaters are hugely effective.

JW3 CEO Raymond Simonson said: “Ever since Biblical times, hospitality has been a key value to the Jewish community, from Abraham and Sarah’s tent, which was open on all four sides to inviting a stranger to your Pesach Seder. The Dorfman Piazza allows us at JW3 to become even more hospitable. From cultural events to parties and our winter ice rink to our summer beach. The Dorfman Piazza shows the growth of JW3 as we enter our next decade as the home of Jewish culture and conversation.”

Now JW3 has the perfect space for performance, ice rinks, art exhibitions, receptions, launches, fairs, pop-ups, beaches, and events for up to 400 people  – almost anything is possible in The Dorfman Piazza.
