The national organisation of chaplains who support Jewish students at university has held its annual training seminar.

University Jewish Chaplaincy (UJC) brought together 16 dedicated Chaplains, 4 head office staff members, and 12 of the Chaplains’ children for the event.

Spanning across 13 regions in the UK, from Scotland to Brighton, UJC plays a crucial role in providing spiritual guidance and support to Jewish students across the country.

The seminar featured a diverse array of training sessions aimed at equipping Chaplains with the skills and insights necessary to navigate the unique challenges faced by students today.

Sessions were run by Shelley Marsh (director of collaborative leadership at UJIA) and Rabbi Dr Harvey Belovski (chief strategist and rabbinic head at UJC), and included team building activities, understanding and addressing stress and anxiety in young people and cancel culture.

Our annual training seminar not only equips our Chaplains with essential skills but also reinforces the sense of unity and shared purpose that drives our organisation.”

There are seventeen chaplains working in twelve regions in the UK, from Exeter to Scotland.
