Voice of the Jewish News: Calling all the community heroes!

Do you know a remarkable person?

Someone who has touched your life or the lives of others with an extraordinary act of bravery or charity?

If so, then they could be in the running for the Jewish News-Mitzvah Day Community Hero Award.

Last year courageous father-of-three Adam Cramer, who dived into treacherous seas to save a teenager only weeks after life-saving surgery, was named our winner.

This year we are calling on charities, youth groups, schools and individuals to let us know about other unsung heroes in our midst.

Like Adam, they may have performed a courageous act without a second’s thought, or perhaps they battled against the odds for months or years to achieve something special in the community.

Heroism comes in many guises and heroes come in all shapes and sizes.

So if you know of a person who fits the bill, don’t delay.

To nominate someone you know email the editor at richardf@thejngroup.com stating the person’s name, age, where they live, and, in no more than 100 words, why you think they deserve to be recognised.

The deadline is 2 November and shortlisted entries will feature in the paper.
