JN VIDEO EXCLUSIVE: Wedding? What wedding? Police given simcha runaround

Video evidence emerges of police being allegedly misled about an illegal simcha on the premises.

This is the moment police were allegedly given the run-around by guests at an illegal strictly-Orthodox simcha in Clapton Common.

The video was shot on 28 December, two days after the current national lockdown began, at a venue know by locals as Belz Hall.

A source told the Jewish News that the wedding was in the basement but a guest “took the police on a wild goose chase around other parts of the building.”

In the video a man is asked by police if there are more guests upstairs. He shrugs his shoulders and says: ‘Upstairs, the classrooms?’

The same source told Jewish News that on multiple occasions, when police arrived at the hall, guests “take them around to the main shul and smaller halls. They leave without seeing anything.”
