Is there a cheder?

No, it’s now joint with Bushey, but there are GCSE classes and Challenge for years 7 and 8.

Tell us some interesting facts about the synagogue

We have just built a beautiful new Beit HaMidrash, that’s very busy, especially for our alternative services, explanatory, Limmud, Sephardi, women only.

The Freeman Susman Hall (above the community centre)-where many of the shul’s functions take place is actually bigger than the main synagogue itself.

The synagogue added a lift in 2008 so that disabled members could access all parts of the building.

In 2014 the main shul was refurbished as well as half of the classrooms.

What exciting events do you have planned?

We hosted a performance of Les Miserabbis on 1 March. We offer community weekends away and trips to Berlin, Poland.

What are the highlights of the Shabbat morning kiddush?

The social aspect – 600+ regulars.
