The semi-final of WIZOuk’s 2023 Commitment Awards took place in  Knightsbridge last week.

The WIZO Commitment Awards seek to recognise those who have demonstrated outstanding commitment to changing lives and building futures. The Awards, open to candidates of all faiths and communities, salute the impact and passion of individuals, organisations, businesses and corporates, who use their experience, skills or opportunities to make the world a better place.

Since initiating these Awards, WIZO has been inspired by the extraordinary people who have made an impact in so many vital areas of society, including education, environmental issues, and health and well-being. The commitment and values of the nominees and award winners reflect the heart of WIZO.

WIZO’s legacy is a passionate commitment to continue weaving hope into the fabric of this diverse society.  The largest social provider in Israel, WIZO helps thousands of vulnerable and disadvantaged Israeli citizens of all religions and cultures who depend on WIZO to help them become fulfilled individuals and contributing citizens.

David Dangoor

Awards nominees, nominators, sponsors and judges mingled and inspired each other. Annabel Stelzer, Chair of WIZOuk, welcomed the guests and David Dangoor then spoke about his commitment to WIZO and of the Awards being a tribute to the memory of his parents Renee Dangoor, herself a WIZO supporter, and Sir Naim Dangoor CBE.

During the evening, the sponsors chatted to the nominees in their category and to put forward their choices for the final judging, which will made by a panel chaired by Claude Littner and including Andrew Bloch, Sophie Eden, Linda Plant and John Ware. The winners will be announced at the WIZO Commitment Dinner in March.
