Two women charged for wearing paraglider images at pro-Palestine rally

Two women arrested for wearing images of a paraglider attached to their backs at a pro-Palestine rally have been charged under anti-terrorism legislation.

The individuals were pictured on 14 October in Whitehall, sporting the pictures attached to their clothing with tape in an apparent tribute to Hamas terrorists who used paragliders to enter Israel where they raped, mutilated and massacred 260 youngsters at a music festival.

They were arrested after a two-week police investigation following the 14 October rally.

There have been 98 arrests for antisemitic offences in the last four weeks.

Speaking in the Commons on Thursday, Chris Philp, minister for crime and policing, said: “We have seen a surge in antisemitic offences and a spike in Islamophobic offences, with 21 arrests in the last four weeks for Islamophobic offences.”
