Yavneh’s Jewish education judged ‘outstanding, ambitious and varied’

Headteacher Spencer Lewis says glowing Jewish studies report is ‘perhaps the best I have read'.

Yavneh College.

Formal and informal Jewish education at Yavneh College has been ranked ‘outstanding’ by the Board of Deputies body responsible for inspecting Jewish education in the community’s schools.

Inspectors from Pikuach, accredited by the Department of Education, found Yavneh to be a school where students are “inspired both by the Jewish education on offer and the dedicated staff who are outstanding role models for Jewish practice and learning’.

With all areas being judged as ‘outstanding’, Yavneh described the report as a “glowing” recommendation of Jewish education at the school, covering informal and formal Jewish studies as well as community, tzedakah and chagim activities.

Executive head teacher, Mr Spencer Lewis, said the “incredible” report is “perhaps the best I have ever read and it is a true and accurate reflection of the outstanding Jewish education pupils receive at Yavneh College both in the classroom and during our varied and exciting informal Jewish education programmes.”
