Death threat sent to George Galloway MP triggers police investigation
Firebrand Member of Parliament for Bradford West, George Galloway, has received a death threat and the Metropolitan Police have launched an investigation, writes Jack Mendel
According to Officers from the Palace of Westminster, following the receipt of the death threat on Monday, contact was made with the Metropolitan Police’s Counter Terrorism Command.
A Met police spokesman said:
“Officers from the Palace of Westminster contacted the Met’s Counter Terrorism Command on Monday, September 15 following the receipt of a letter intended for a member of the House of Commons.
This letter is being treated as malicious communications.
“No arrests have been made.
“Inquires are ongoing.”
Mr Galloway thanked the Commons postal service and the Met Police for intercepting the letter on twitter:

The MP, who is well known for his divisive left wing brand of politics, and powerful oratory skills was recently attacked in Notting Hill.
Following that incident, the attacker admitted assault and was remanded in custody to stand trial on November 10.
On Monday it was also claimed that in a rally for the NO campaign in Scotland, Galloway was heckled. He claimed that ‘”In the last 30 minutes I have been told I am going to face a bullet.”
