El Al and Rolls-Royce sign ‘biggest ever export deal to Israel’

Rolls-Royce will service and maintain new engines in El Al planes, following the signing of a landmark agreement dubbed the “biggest ever export deal to Israel”.
Israel’s premiere airline signed the strategic deal during a ceremony attended by the UK Ambassador to Israel, David Quarrey.
The agreement is an ‘integral aspect’ of El AL’s aircraft acquisition renewal program, in which 15 new Dreamliners will join its fleet by 2017.
Rolls-Royce were announced as both the supplier of the new engines for the aircraft, and being responsible for the service maintenance of them.
The deal was lauded by El Al President and CEO David Maimon as “a significant agreement in the Israeli aviation world”, adding that “Rolls-Royce is a major player in the area of aircraft engines.”
Eric Schulz, Rolls-Royce, President said he was “proud to continue our close relationship with El Al which dates back more than 50 years.”
Ambassador David Quarrey said: I am delighted to take part in the signing of this agreement, which reflects 50 years of partnership between El Al and Rolls Royce and is the largest ever UK deal to Israel. Trade and investment relations between the UK and Israel have never been stronger, and this deal is an important contribution to the future prosperity of both countries. “
