18 girls have haircuts to make wigs for children with cancer
The braids will be donated to children supported by the charity Zichron Menachem UK
18 girls had their braids chopped off at a salon in Temple Fortune to make wigs for children diagnosed with cancer who lost their locks due to chemotherapy.
The braids will be donated to children supported by the charity Zichron Menachem UK.
The charity helps Israeli youngsters diagnosed with cancer and their families, through respite camps and made to-measure wigs to restore their confidence.
The group were then treated to manicures and had their pictures taken by a professional photographer.
Among them, Noa and Bina from Hasmonean High School both cut their hair to mark their bat mitzvahs while Suri, 10, said she had been growing her hair for two years.
Eli Seliger, chairman of Zichron Menachem UK, said he was “blown away by the dedication of all the volunteers and people involved. It was a both heartwarming and spectacular event.”
‘It gives me goosebumps thinking of the incredible process of giving that we are a part of,’ added hairstylist Selena.
