40 interfaith projects get £20,000 grant at ceremony honouring unsung heroes
Projects winning the London Faith & Belief Community Awards at the Royal Society of Medicine ranged from inspiring youth and supporting women to peace and reconciliation.
A total of £20,000 was given out to 40 different projects across London on Tuesday night as an interfaith group co-hosted an awards ceremony honouring the capital’s unsung heroes.

The Faith and Belief Forum (FBF), formerly the Three Faiths Forum, organised the awards together with Her Majesty’s Lord Lieutenant of Greater London’s Council on Faith, which is chaired by Jewish philanthropist David Dangoor.
FBF director Phil Champain said: “At a time when there is so much division in society, it is more important than ever to celebrate those who work to bring people together.
Dangoor said the projects recognised were “the cohesive force of London, adding: “The standard and ingenuity of their work is outstanding and we are greatly impressed by the dedication and attentiveness of those involved. Through this event we witness the power faith and belief groups generate in the civic life of London.”
