A 61-year old Israeli hostage was declared dead by Israeli authorities on Tuesday.

The Hostages Families Forum announced that Lior Rudaeff, a resident of Kibbutz Nir Yitzchak, was killed on October 7 during the Hamas orchestrated massacre.

Lior was born in Argentina but moved to Israel at the age of seven. He leaves behind him a wife, Yaffa, and three children; Noam, Nadav, Bar and Ben. Lior was in the emergency security squad in the kibbutz which battled terrorists as they invaded southern Israel on October 7.

“Rudaeff, a man of giving and a huge heart for all those around him, volunteered for 40 years as an ambulance driver in Eshkol (near the Gaza border). Everywhere, he was always the first to volunteer and reach out to everyone. Argentinian at heart, an avid cyclist and admirer of Shlomo Artzi,” the forum said.

“The Israeli government has a profound moral duty to pursue every avenue in the current negotiations to bring Lior home. He deserves a dignified burial in his homeland, alongside the 38 other hostages brutally murdered. The government must also secure the swift return of all living hostages, so they can begin the long road to healing and recovery,” the forum added.

38 hostages in Gaza have been declared dead while many others are presumed dead.
