Mahmoud Abbas condemns Palestinian use of violence
Mahmoud Abbas has condemned Palestinian groups that endorse violence.
The President of the Palestinian authority made his comments following a period of four months of violence against Israelis, soldiers and settlements.
He said on Sunday drying a press conference: “All the nation and political parties are supporting the national uprising. But we support the peaceful national uprising.”
He continued: “Anyone who wants to act against security using explosions, weapons or creating cells, they will be arrested no matter where he is going.”
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has previously accused Abbas and the Palestinian leadership for inciting the violence.
23 Jewish Israelis have now died in the wave of attacks by Palestinians, with more than 130 Palestinians killed in the same period.
