Aish UK hails ‘incredible show of unity’ as fundraiser raises staggering £1.8m

An Aish UK crowdfunding campaign raised a staggering £1.8 million in under two days, prompting the charity’s executive director to hail the community’s “incredible show of unity.”
A team of 100 fundraisers stationed at two call centres in Manchester and Hendon collected donations over thirty hours.
A group of donors, including Olami and Yad Mordechai, the Ralph Levy Charitable Trust, Jonathan and Sharon Goldstein, trebled every pound donation.
The campaign, which kicked off on Sunday through Monday evening, will go towards funding projects connecting young Jews with the community and Judaism.
The Jewish charity led by executive director Rabbi Daniel Rowe reaches thousands of young Jews each year.
It offers educational opportunities across 18 schools, 15 universities and 6 young professional hubs around the country.
“The last 30 hours have seen an incredible show of unity and generosity from the community in supporting Aish UK,” Rowe said.
“The entire Aish UK team is incredibly grateful to each and every volunteer, group leader and individual donor as well as our very generous matchers who made it possible to raise our £1.8 million target,” he added.
The charity’s fundraising director Royi Gutkin described Aish UK as an “integral part of the Jewish community in the UK.”
