Algeria call off Ghana friendly due to Avram Grant
September's match reportedly called off because of Ghana's Israeli coach.
A friendly international football match between Algeria and Avram Grant’s Ghana side has reportedly been called off after the Algerians refused to allow Ghana’s Israeli manager into the Arab country.
The match was supposed to take place in September, though according to an Algerian journalist : “The Algerian national team canceled the friendly match with Ghana because it refused to host Ghana’s Israeli coach, Avraham Grant.”
Recent months have seen solidarity marches for Palestinians take place in the country.
When contacted by Jewish News, a Ghana FA spokesman refused to confirm whether the match had been called off due to Grant.
