Arts expert named new head of quarterly Jewish magazine
Acclaimed poet, academic and curator who has worked with the British Library and Tate Modern, Dr Aviva Dautch, will take over as executive director of Jewish Renaissance
An adviser to some of Britain’s foremost cultural and arts institutions has been named as the new executive director of the quarterly magazine Jewish Renaissance based in London.
Dr Aviva Dautch, an acclaimed poet, academic and curator who has worked with the British Library, British Museum, Tate Modern and the Royal Academy, will work with Jewish Renaissance’s editor Rebecca Taylor at the magazine.
Dautch is well-known to the Jewish community, having served as the poet-in-residence at the Jewish Museum. She also teaches modern Jewish literature at culture centre JW3 as well as the London School of Jewish Studies, and is a regular presenter at Limmud.
She described herself as “a reader and admirer of Jewish Renaissance since its inception” and Ian Lancaster, chair of Renaissance Publishing, said her “knowledge and experience are the perfect fit”.

Campaigning
Royal Mail issued a stamp honouring Holocaust hero Sir Nicholas Winton after a Jewish News campaign attracted more than 100,000 backers. Jewish Newsalso produces special editions of the paper highlighting pressing issues including mental health and Holocaust remembrance.
