Pulitzer Prize-winning author Sheri Fink’s novel, which chronicles the events shortly after Hurricane Katrina made landfall, will be turned into a new series on Apple Tv+.

When the floodwaters rose, the power failed, the heat climbed and exhausted caregivers were forced to make life-and-death decisions that haunted them for years to come.

Fink will serve as a producer on the project, while director John Ridley (12 Years A Slave, American Crime) will also co-write alongside Carlton Cuse (Jack Ryan, Lost).
