Barnet community to get Pesach refuse collection despite virus disruption
Jewish residents in more than 300 roads in the Borough will get dedicated pick-ups for excess waste ahead of Passover
Barnet’s Jewish community will get a dedicated Pesach refuse collection this week, despite coronavirus-related disruption.
The local council said the annual service is open to more than 300 roads in the Borough, allowing residents to dispose of waste, including prohibited items, before the festival.
This comes amid staffing and administrative problems in the authority owing to the coronavirus.
Edgware Councillor Brian Gordon said: “It’s a real achievement to have the dedicated Pesach collections at such a difficult and challenging time, which our community deeply appreciates. Hopefully it will all proceed efficiently, but if there are any blips, I am sure patience and goodwill will prevail”.
Collections will take place on either Tuesday and Wednesday this week.
