Ben Winston scoops Brit award for One Direction’s Best Song Ever
Simon Cowell has publicly congratulated music producer Ben Winston after one of his One Direction videos scooped a Brit Award last night.
The video for Best Song Ever was recognised on the biggest night of the British music calendar after a vote on Twitter. Winston was thanked on stage by Harry Styles, a close friend of the producer, in front of audience of thousands at the O2 Arena and millions watching on television.
Cowell said on the micro blogging site: “Thank you everyone for voting. Its a brilliant video. Congrats to the boys and to Ben who made it.”
Winston – who also produced the boyband’s hit film – told the Jewish News: “I’m so delighted and honoured to win a Brit award. It’s really one of those dream come true moments. Working with One Direction is always brilliant in itself and to have a Brit award is the icing on the cake.”
Winston was a host producer for last night’s awards ceremony, working on the parts of the show featuring host James Corden.
