Luciana Berger at N-Oscars to award Jewish aids volunteers
Luciana Berger, MP and representatives from JAT (formally known as the Jewish AIDS Trust) attended the NAZ Project London’s Volunteer Awards at The Millennium Gloucester Hotel, promoting awareness around sexual health.
This event was the the first time any Jews have been honoured at this annual multicultural event which celebrates difference and challenges stigma and stereotypes.
Ms Berger presented an N-Oscar to Laurence Lewis, volunteer and Trustee for his life-time dedication to JAT.
During his time, Laurence helped educate people of all ages and all backgrounds in sexual health and relationships and cared for Jewish people living with HIV/AIDS. 
The MP, who is Jewish, also presented N-Oscars to Rabbi Mark Goldsmith, Alyth (North Western Reform Synagogue) and Rabbi David Mitchell, West London Synagogue.
They received their award for their work in engaging with their congregations about these major issues, through acknowledgment of World AIDS Day in their synagogues and the adoption of same-sex marriage by the Assembly of Reform Rabbis UK.
Rabbi Mark said in his acceptance speech that ‘We cannot have a kehillah kedosha, a holy community, without inclusiveness’.
