Hosted by B’nai B’rith UK and sponsored by Jewish News, this year’s European Days of Jewish Culture and Heritage theme is ‘Building Bridges’.
The events, which run from 11 to 18 October, explore the ways the Jewish community can make connections across different faiths and generations.
Here are five ‘don’t miss’ events…
1. Exhibition: Sacrifice at Jewish Museum – runs until 3 December
This crowd-sourced exhibition explores the theme of sacrifice through personal items, keepsakes and works of art.

2. Guided walk: Blooms to Burgers, Bagels to Bhajis from Go London Tours – Sunday, 11 October, 11am.
From the days of bagels, Boris and Blooms, Whitechapel Road now embraces a new immigrant community. Join Rachel Kolsky and Isabelle Seddon to explore the different and parallel stories of the Jewish and Bengali communities, including anarchists, Altab Ali and the much-loved London Hospital. 3. Open day: New West End Synagogue – Sunday, 11 October

4. Film screening and panel discussion: B’nai B’rith UK at the Jewish Museum – Thursday, 15 October, 5.45pm
Screening of award-winning film, David/Daoud, which explores the boundaries of faith and trust in New York’s multicultural backdrop. Followed by a panel discussion chaired by Dame Helen Hyde and including Archbishop Kevin McDonald, Sheikh Usama Hasan, Henry Grunwald OBE QC and Dhruv Chhatralia. Tickets: £25.

5. Guided Walk: The Literary Ghetto from Jewish East End Celebration Society – Sunday, 18 October, 11am
Clive Bettington’s guided walk will look at the Jewish literary figures of the East End. Meet at Aldgate Tube. Tickets: £10 (JEECS members, £8).
