Brits urged to do volunteering in Israel over Pesach
When UK tourists head to Israel for passover, the Jewish Volunteering Network encourage them to make a difference
Jewish volunteers in Britain are being urged to consider a day or two of volunteering in Israel when they head off for some sun during Pesach.
As families book their flights and prepare their plans, the Jewish Volunteering Network (JVN) this week said it had teamed up with Israeli organisations to create opportunities for those will to take time out from topping up their tan and enjoying a matzah-based picnic.
Brits abroad will have the change to work with charities such as Leket Israel, Meir Panim, Aleh and others to get “a hands-on opportunity to really make a difference to someone’s life in Israel,” they said.
JVN director Leonie Lewis said: “Volunteering in Israel is extremely important for Jewish families as it introduces our community to organisations that are having a real impact on the lives of Israelis.”
She added: “We receive many enquiries about volunteering in Israel and we are committed to providing easy and accessible opportunities for people to add a real, positive experience to their holiday.”British
