Cambridge student raises £3000 for Jewish care homes
A Cambridge University student from Sutton has now raised almost £3,000 for a Jewish charity after completing the British 10k London Run.
Simon Heller, a medical student, has raised the money for Nightingale Hammerson, a charity that runs two large Jewish care homes where he volunteered for over a year before going to university.
Heller, who also ran the Virgin London Marathon in April, has raised a combined figure of over £2,800 for the charity.
The 22-year old said on his website: “I have seen first hand the amazing work the whole team do there. It is in fact more than a nursing home. It provides residential care, nursing care, dementia specialist care and a respite service.
“To provide all these to the standard they do with all the on site medical care, therapy care and social activities they organise, requires the generosity of donations,” he said.
