Camden fire forces evacuation of Langdon dinner
Young supporters of Langdon were evacuated from a dinner last night as a major fire swept through the Stables Market area of Camden. More than 100 guests were at popular nightspot Shaka Zulu when the blaze was discovered at around 7.45pm.
A total of more than 700 shoppers and diners were evacuated from the market and surrounding areas as around 70 firefighters battled to tackle the blaze, which reports suggest may have started buy an electrical fault at the back of a store under one of the railway arches. No injuries were reported.
It is still not clear whether the famous market will be closed temporarily as a result of the fire, which saw smoke billowing 50ft into the air. The stables market was bought this year for £400m by Israeli internet tycoon Teddy Sagi.
