Chai Hopes as Rosh Hashanah charity gift sale raises over £38k
900 supporters come out in force to shop and support community cancer organisation at its north west London HQ
Chai Cancer Care welcomed 900 supporters to its annual Rosh Hashanah gift fair at its flagship centre in Hendon, north London.
Raising £38,000, the event for the Jewish community’s cancer support organisation featured 39 vendors offering a mix of clothes, jewellery, homeware, Judaica, flowers, gifts and millinery.
Event committee co-chairs, Debra Zender and Julia Abrams, said: “We have spent the last year sourcing fabulous gifts from all over the world and are blown away by the support of the community, with more than £38,000 raised. An amazing amount of money which will go a long way in helping to support Chai’s vital work.
Chai’s chairman Louise Hager said: “The Gift Sale is always a highlight of our calendar. Not only is this an important fundraising event, but it provides an ideal opportunity for many to visit Chai for the first time and experience the special atmosphere that has such a positive effect on all those who benefit from our specialised services.”
