Chelsea legend pays Israel visit
Former Chelsea defender Paul Elliott was in Israel last week to attend the latest Kick It Out football initiatives.
The UEFA special ambassador took part in activities as a guest of the New Israel Fund.
Elliott, a guest of the NIF, met with local football activists, and said: “Kick it Out has done fantastic work. I was so pleased to see the work they’ve done with the New Israel Fund. It’s about partnership, about collaboration. We want to look at the positive wonderful contribution Jews and Arabs have made…and convert that into society…it’s about sustainability of the good work. That comes from investment, education, collaboration…and leadership.”
Itzik Shanan, Director of NIF’s Kick It Out said: “We’re extremely grateful to UEFA for supporting the events and donating 1,000 footballs to the project, and to Paul Elliott for being such a wonderful ambassador and taking such an enthusiastic part in all the activities.”
