Chief Rabbi announces partnership with Netflix star for UK Jewish matchmaking project
Shidduch between office of Ephraim Mirvis, Aleeza Ben Shalom and World Mizrachi
It’s bashert: the office of the Chief Rabbi is partnering with star of Netflix show Jewish Matchmaking, Aleeza Ben Shalom, and World Mizrachi, to launch the Jewish Matchmaking Movement in the UK.
The long-term goal of the project is to create more opportunities for Jewish singles to meet one another, more Jewish marriages and more Jewish families.
Chief Rabbi Sir Ephraim Mirvis said: “Strengthening Jewish families is one of the greatest investments we can make in the future of our communities. This exciting new initiative, in partnership with Aleeza Ben Shalom and World Mizrachi, will bring renewed focus, energy, and expertise to the vital task of Jewish matchmaking.
“My hope is that it will bring joy to many and, more importantly, that it will help to lay the foundations for countless vibrant Jewish families for years to come.”
Speaking to Jewish News from the Chief Rabbi’s Annual conference, Aleeza Ben Shalom said: “Just like there’s a rabbi and rebbetzen in every community, soon there is going to be a match-maker in every community.”
Details will be announced soon about a live event where she will share her expertise on how people can establish and sustain happy and successful marriages. Plans are also underway for her to deliver training to support more people in the art of making successful introductions.
Further details about the Jewish Matchmaking Movement UK will be made available in the coming months.
