Chief Rabbi Mirvis tests positive for Covid
A spokesperson confirmed the positive lateral flow test result and said he was “feeling well” while awaiting a PCR test confirmation.
Chief Rabbi Ephraim Mirvis was confirmed as having tested positive for Covid through a lateral flow test on Wednesday.
A spokesperson for Mirvis, who is in his mid-60s, confirmed the positive test result and said he was “feeling well” while awaiting a PCR test confirmation.
In the meantime, as a precautionary measure, the Office of the Chief Rabbi has cleared his diary for the coming days, including the cancellation of foreign trips.
Last month, Mirvis mourned the lives lost during the pandemic, as the Jewish community reported its thousandth victim of Covid.
He said: “As the world slowly begins to return to a more familiar rhythm of life, may the memory of those we lost continue to serve as an inspiration to us all to cherish the gifts of good health, a fulfilling life and loving relationships.”
