Chief Rabbi praise for ‘outstanding’ Jewish Blind and Disabled online resource
The chief rabbi has praised Jewish Blind & Disabled for its “outstanding” new online resource for those with a physical disability or impaired vision.
The chief rabbi offered his support, and said he “hoped the good news spreads” as he learnt more about the charity’s latest initiative. The online tool asks several questions about a person’s wants and needs and ultimately directs them to the most appropriate resources, including government services and other charities.
“The service offers readers a clear pathway through a range of ‘Yes’ and ‘No’ options often identifying issues that they had not even considered before answering the questionnaire,” said a JBD spokeswoman.
Matthew Offord, who is the prospective conservative candidate for Hendon, and Sarah Sackman who is the Labour candidate for Finchley and Golders Green, attended launch events in North London. to raise awareness of the new initiative.
The charity was able to demonstrate a show of local support, with the initiative sponsored by kosher bakeries, delicatessens and restaurants across London, Essex and Hertfordshire.
JBD chief executive Hazel Kaye said: “The Jewish community is, as ever, showing their commitment to supporting each other.”
