CNN uses map that replaces Israel with ‘Palestina’
An unlikely culprit was behind Israel’s absence from yet another map this week, after a news story appeared online on the website of major American channel CNN.
The article, headed: “Beyond ISIS: 2016’s scariest geopolitical hot spots,” included a graphic of the Middle East in which Israel is missing, replaced by ‘Palestina.’
Social media commentators were quick to suggest that Israel may still exist next year.
Since being reported, CNN have removed the image, and replaced it with one of a destroyed district of Aleppo in Syria.
