JN Podcast: Condemning Bezalel Smotrich: did the Board of Deputies do the right thing?
This week's Jewish News Podcast discussing a bewildering week in communal politics
UK Jewish communal groups have distanced themselves from the visit of extremist Israeli politician Bezalel Smotrich, who paid a short visit to London last week.
In a strongly worded rebuttal the Board of Deputies told him he was not welcome, adding: “Get back on the plane, Bezalel, and be remembered as a disgrace forever.”
But the remarks divided Jewish communities in Britain, Israel and around the world.
In this week’s podcast Jewish News foreign editor Michael Daventry discusses a bewildering week with Jerusalem Post editor Yaakov Katz, Jerusalem Deputy Mayor Fleur Hassan-Nahoum and Dov Ben-Shimon from the Jewish Federation of Greater MetroWest New Jersey
