Daniel’s boxing clever for Breast Cancer Care
Daniel Krieger is getting set to make his debut in the boxing ring, when he dons a pair of gloves in aid of Breast Cancer Care.
The 27-year-old Edgware United Synagogue member (pictured) will be one of 20 people raising money on 19 March, and decided to take on the challenge following his mother’s diagnosis of breast cancer in 2007.
Wanting to support the charity and the work it does, he says: “Having completed my second Virgin London Marathon in 2014, I stated ‘never EVER again!’ but now, nearly a year on, I’ve taken on a new and somewhat more gruelling challenge.
“My mum was approached by one of the team at BCC to ask if she knew of anyone and I didn’t hesitate – even though I’d never stepped in a boxing ring before.”
Starting an eight-week intensive training course at the start of the year, he’s now in the best possible shape, as he gets set to fight a fellow team member of similar strength and sizing in front of a crowd of 500 people at The Clapham Grand.
