Office of Chief Rabbi comes to decision after consultation, saying the community 'should do everything it can to preserve the sense of occasion'
The next ShabbatUK takes place on 5 and 6 February 2021, the Chief Rabbi’s office announced this week.
This comes after a consultation found the initiative, encouraging the entire community to mark the weekly day of rest,is still a “powerful and compelling proposition” and has an impact on local communities.
The Chief Rabbi’s team also noted the community “should do everything it can to preserve the sense of occasion”, which sets it “apart as such a special day in the calendar.”
