Gal Gadot tells freed hostages ‘you are strength and inspiration’ in emotional meeting
Actress urges continued focus on 50 captives still in Gaza after survivors share ordeal
Gal Gadot has described five Israeli women freed from Hamas captivity as a source of “strength” and “inspiration” during a private meeting in Tel Aviv on Tuesday.
The Hollywood star sat with Doron Steinbrecher, Liri Albag, Naama Levy, Moran Stella Yanai and Ilana Gritzewsky – all of whom were kidnapped during the 7 October attacks and later released – and urged continued international pressure to bring the remaining hostages home.
“You went through unimaginably hard things, and I can’t believe you’re here now,” Gadot told them. “You’ve picked up the stretcher and are carrying it for those still there. You are strength. You are inspiration. I hope everyone comes back already.”
Steinbrecher, who was freed in January alongside Albag and Levy, responded: “Don’t stop. We must keep talking about the hostages and keep them in the public’s consciousness.”
Gritzewsky, released in November, is still waiting for the return of her partner, Matan Zangauker, who remains held in Gaza.
The meeting was arranged by the Hostages and Missing Families forum and comes as Gadot continues a low-profile tour of southern Israel, including visits to the Re’im Forest massacre site and Kibbutz Zikim.
Gadot has used her global platform throughout the war to support hostage families and amplify their calls for action.
